Writer and solar pioneer based in New Mexico. Co-founded the New Mexico Solar Energy Association with Steve Baer and Ken Haggard at Ghost Ranch in 1972 — one of the earliest regional solar energy organizations in the United States. Baer also hosted the first "Life Technic" conference there the same year.
Van Dresser built some of the first passive solar houses in New Mexico in the 1950s — a decade before Baer arrived in the state. The Solar Fools wiki reading list places his work as foundational to the broader movement.
